I would NOT take on evaluating two options with the same starting date. But if you are shooting weddings, perhaps worth considering at a future date. A bit harder to learn, significantly more powerful. Released in mid-November 2018, the latest version of ON1 Photo RAW greatly improves a non-destructive workflow. So, recently, I thought Id give Capture One another visit - and downloaded the Express version for Fuji. And along with those, I had purchased an external gpu to use on my new Mac mini. The Facebook community is worth joining and can often get you a quick answer to a question. ON1 was the only program I had on hand to process my Fuji raw files - but it has issues. The interface is fairly clear, so you should be able to do this easily.
#ON1 PHOTO RAW VS CAPTURE ONE TRIAL#
Your idea to get the trial with a stack of images to plow through is excellent! You will learn a lot in a short time. Recent updates filled some conspicuous gaps. It might just be a big enough editor for me to use, though I suspect I might not be able to use it for non photo layered documents but that is a non-photo related issue for later. I liked the interface for film simulations, the ease of figuring out the interface and the serious shot they are taking at providing a better thought-through LR replacement with some innovative benefits. It certainly seems as though ON1 might be good enough all by itself. This may have improved since then.Įxposure seems to be developing well. I felt like the quality of the results were a bit rough for serious work (large prints).
#ON1 PHOTO RAW VS CAPTURE ONE HOW TO#
The thought about how to access tools was well done in many ways, many good options, etc. I used an earlier On1 trial version, but not the current. I don't own or do serious work in either, so I hope others with deeper experience will contribute.
